What we collect

Nothing you don't hand over. If you email us, we have your email. If you subscribe to the newsletter, our newsletter provider stores your address so it can send you posts.

Accounts

If you make an AegyOrlando account, we store your email address, the display name and city you choose, your date of birth, and the ways you have said people can reach you.

Your date of birth is only used to check you are old enough to have an account, and it is never shown to anyone. If someone tells us they are under 13, we do not create an account and we do not keep the date they gave us.

Your contact details are private while your card is on the board. When you accept someone's claim, the details you ticked to share are sent to that one person so the two of you can arrange the trade. Nothing is shared before you accept, and declining a claim shares nothing at all.

You can sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, or with a password if you choose to set one. We never store your password itself: we keep a salted hash of it, which can check a password but cannot be turned back into one. Staying signed in uses a cookie that does nothing else, and we keep a short record of failed sign-in attempts, by email and by IP address, for a day, to stop people guessing passwords. Closing your account removes your listings, your contact details and any claims still open. Email [email protected] to close one.

Analytics

We use analytics to see which pages people read. It only loads after you accept cookies. Decline and it never runs.

Advertising

Some pages carry display ads. Ad providers may set cookies to measure performance, and those also wait for your consent.

Affiliate links

We do not currently use affiliate links and earn no commission from any link on this site.

Featured vendors

Vendors pay a fee to appear at AegyOrlando events, and some are friends who give us a discount on their products. Any article featuring a vendor states that relationship at the top. Nobody pays for coverage.
